Dr Laura Gallagher
Laura is a Chartered Clinical Neuropsychologist with over 15 years of postgraduate clinical experience across community, hospital, private, and independent practice settings. Throughout her career, she has developed and led specialist neurodevelopmental services and provided careful, evidence-based support to children and families.
Through Cinn Cinnte Psychology, Laura provides specialist neurodevelopmental assessment, clinical supervision, and consultation. Her work is guided by thoughtful understanding, close collaboration with other professionals, and a whole-system approach to supporting children and families across healthcare, education, and community settings.
Laura specialises in working with children who have complex developmental, medical, neurological, or genetic conditions. She previously worked in Enable Ireland, where she supported children with physical disabilities and neurological conditions and helped develop group programmes for children and families. For many years, Laura worked within Children’s Health Ireland Tallaght, leading psychology services for children attending neurodevelopmental, neurodisability, and neurology services. In these roles, she developed specialist assessment pathways and worked closely with paediatricians, therapists, schools, and families to ensure children received coordinated and meaningful support.

Laura is also involved in national and international work aimed at improving psychological assessment and intervention for children with neurological conditions and physical disability. This work reflects her strong commitment to inclusion, participation, and quality of life for children and families.
More than Motor Programme
Laura is the programme lead and architect of More than Motor, a programme of clinical research addressing the unmet psychological needs of children with neuromuscular conditions, including Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In October 2024 she secured €670,000 in funding from the Children’s Health Foundation to support the development of an international psychosocial model of care for paediatric neuromuscular conditions, reflecting her strong commitment to systemic care.
